Changemaker: one who desires change in the world and, by gathering knowledge and resources, makes that change happen.

Lewisham Changemakers is a programme and network for social entrepreneurs, charities, community groups or local businesses who wish to create or grow a social enterprise* in Lewisham.

We’re looking for individuals and groups who have a passion for creating positive social change in Lewisham and have innovative ideas for generating an income that can fund this work.

We have created a programme to train people to become investment ready and we are building a network of local changemakers where people can access support and build power.

The 2020 programme is an intensive 7-week course consisting of 6 evening classes and 2 whole day sessions. We have brought together an exceptional team of specialist trainers, industry experts and social investors to train successful applicants to become investment ready**.

The network we are building will get together regularly through the year and will feature guest speakers and contributors. This network is open to all and will be hosted on meetup.

*A Social Enterprise is A business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose.” – 2002  Department of Trade and Industry  report ‘Social Enterprise: a strategy for success’ report.

**investment may be in the form of small grants, loans and costs in-kind i.e. office or hall space.
